How can I understand my training results?

The TCF

This article has been automatically translated. If you have any problems, please consult the French version.
The TCF assesses six levels of knowledge of French, defined according to the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. In the interests of readability, the names of these levels have been simplified.

The TV5MONDE simulator offers placement on bands of levels. Here are the rules applied on the simulator in 80 questions:
  • A1 not reached: 0 correct answers
  • A1 / A2: between 1 and 8 correct answers
  • A2 / B1: between 9 and 23 correct answers
  • B1 / B2: between 24 and 47 correct answers
  • B2 / C1: between 48 and 69 correct answers
  • C1 / C2: more than 75 correct answers

We advise you to use the 80-question simulator for a more reliable assessment of your level. The 40-question practice sessions will give you a less accurate result.

In all cases, the results are indicative and will not guarantee you the same score when you take the official TCF.
